Certified invoicing for hotels in Spain
Newhotel Cloud PMS and Newhotel PMS On-premises comply with Law 58/2003, Royal Decree 1007/2023 and Order HAC/1177/2024 of the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT), as well as the control rules of Spanish authorities.
Three obligations, handled inside the PMS
Occupancy statistics
Tourist occupancy surveys sent to the INE (National Statistics Institute) and, in the Canary Islands, to the ISTAC (Canary Islands Statistics Institute).
Guest registration
SES.Hospedajes, the Ministry of the Interior’s official platform. In Catalonia, registration goes through the Mossos d’Esquadra platform; in the Basque Country, through the Ertzaintza’s.
Verifiable invoices
TicketBAI, already in force in the Basque Country, and VERI*FACTU, the AEAT’s verifiable invoicing system for the rest of the country, on the timeline set by the Tax Agency.
What Newhotel declares to the AEAT
The invoicing system complies with article 29.2.j) of Law 58/2003, the General Tax Law, the regulation approved by Royal Decree 1007/2023 and Order HAC/1177/2024.
Newhotel initially chose the NON-VERI*FACTU mode, which meets the regulation and guarantees that invoicing records cannot be altered and remain complete. Hotels can later switch to VERI*FACTU, with each record sent to the AEAT as it is created.
The regulation applies to the whole of Spain, including the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla. The Basque Country and Navarre have their own regional tax regimes — in the Basque Country, TicketBAI.
